Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data SIP collects, how we use and share it, and the rights and choices you have. It applies to our websites, apps, and APIs.
Overview
SIP Intelligence, Inc. ("SIP") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal data when you use the Service or visit our websites.
Where we process personal data on behalf of a business customer (for example, their end users), we act as a processor and our handling is governed by that customer's instructions and our Data Processing Addendum.
Information we collect
We collect the following categories of personal data:
- Account data — name, work email, organization, and role, provided at sign-up.
- Billing data — billing contact and transaction records (card details are handled by our payment processor, not stored by us).
- Usage data — features used, watchlists configured, log and device information, and approximate location derived from IP.
- Support data — information you provide when you contact us.
- Cookies & similar technologies — as described in the Cookies section below.
How we use information
We use personal data to:
- Provide, maintain, and secure the Service;
- Process transactions and manage Subscriptions;
- Communicate about your account, updates, and security;
- Improve and develop features, and analyze usage trends;
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your Customer Data to train models offered to other customers.
Legal bases for processing
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Service), legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service), consent (for certain cookies and marketing), and compliance with legal obligations.
Data retention
We retain personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. After account closure, we retain data only as required for legal, accounting, or legitimate business purposes, then delete or anonymize it. Customer Data is available for export for 30 days after termination.
Your rights & choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know and delete, and the right to opt out of "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising (which SIP does not do).
To exercise any right, contact privacy@sipintel.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
International data transfers
We are based in the United States and may process data in other countries. Where we transfer personal data out of the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the UK Addendum.
Security
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal data, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and monitoring. See our Security & Compliance page for details. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your data.
Children's privacy
The Service is intended for business use and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy periodically. Material changes will be announced by email or in-product before they take effect. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
